NARRATIVE

Several artifacts came to mind for competency eight, apply computer-based technologies and media to the solution of instructional problems.  This section has been a major take away for the LDT program.  The artifacts I have chosen highlight the skills I have gained in the computer based technology and media section. The first artifact is from EDCI 569, Introduction to E-Learning.  This was is the digital prototype assignment, that allowed my partner and myself to plan out and design our learning environments that were supported directly through technology. This was a monumental experience because it was the first e-learning program I had developed.  The project challenged me to apply nearly all of the skills I have learned through the courses in the LDT program.  I think the ultimate reward was creating my own program.

The second artifact in this section I have selected is from EDCI 568, Educational Applications of the Internet.  This was the video tutorial assignment, and was one of favorites!  EDCI 568 taught me several of the new web 2.0 tools.  The course also gave me the confidence to incorporate those applications into my instructional programs.   For this artifact, I researched and over viewed the concepts of how to use and incorporate Dipity into several programs.

For EDCI 564 I designed a  training to help new 4-H members learn tactics to make them the best animal stewards they could be.  This was designed to be something they could complete on their own or in a group setting, because I know extra commitments are always an issue.  The findings and final product are also being implemented into my 4-H curriculum in my local county. This project also demonstrates an understanding of social, ethical, legal and human issues surrounding LDT issues. The reason it meets this criteria is because it takes into the learner's ability to naviagate .  I had to make sure the content I was teaching met the ethical and legal standards of publication.  I wanted to design and develop a program that was very easy  for anyone to use.  I kept my audience in mind, which was made of several levels of experience.  In the beginning phases of development of my project I worked through my evaluation strategies. The digital workshop was designed through Wix, and proved to be to an effective way to facilitate.  I evaluated the program using the SurveyMonkey tool. My Livestock Workshop spotlighted my ability to apply new technology tools.
